Holy Orders

There are three levels to the Sacrament of Holy Orders: deacons, priests, and bishops. If you think God is calling you to be a deacon or a priest, great! We are very happy to help you with your discernment. If you think God is calling you to be a bishop, all we can say is let's slow down. We'll start with the priesthood and see what God has in mind.

Becoming a Deacon

The Diocese of Saskatoon is in the very early stages of preparing for permanent deacons. Permanent Deacons can be married or unmarried and are called by God to minister to people in most need and on the margins of life in parishes and communities. Click here for more information.

If you are a Catholic man who feels called to this life of ministry and service, please contact Fr. Daniel or the Diocese of Saskatoon Vocations Office.

Becoming a Priest

Do you think God is calling you to be a Catholic Priest? Wonderful! Your priest and your diocese will help you to discern this momentous calling. Please contact Fr. Daniel or the Diocese of Saskatoon Vocations Office.

It can be a frightening thing to first contact the church and say the life-changing words, "I think God is calling me to be a priest." Be assured that this initial call is not a commitment. We will work with you for several years to discern whether or not God is calling you to the priesthood. If God's call is on your heart, please call us.
